With this service, essential patent applications from thousands published each month in Europe, USA, UK and through the PCT system, are distilled into a readily accessible format allowing companies to monitor technical advances in their field and identify competitors' technical developments.

The information is available in two formats, a Quick Reference Edition and a Full Text Edition, both providing:

• Easy access to the relevant patents
• Patents grouped by subject
• Individual patent surveys tailored to the Aluminium industry
• Surveys also available for the Magnesium and Copper industries

Quick Reference Edition:

This is delivered every month by email in pdf format. It contains the front page of each patent and shows an abstract of the technology, the inventors and who owns the patent.

Full Text Edition:

This is delivered every month as a spreadsheet on CD, or by downloading from the internet. The Full Text Edition contains the complete patent. In addition to the information contained in the Quick Reference Edition, it also details the patent family, priority dates and publication dates of the main family members.

The Patent Alert Service can also include a new survey covering patents from China, Japan and South Korea which are not published in other countries.
