Aluminium Rolling Technology Course: in-person

Next course dates:  05-09 December 22. This will be an in-person event in Banbury, UK. (Find out about September’s online event here)

The Aluminium Rolling Technology course will help you reduce downtime and improve your product quality because you’ll be able to diagnose and solve rolling problems quickly

It will give you more in-house problem solving capability, so you’re less reliant on your suppliers.

You’ll get an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of aluminium rolling from internationally recognised experts.

Our Aluminium Rolling Technology Course is the only rolling course specifically for aluminium. It’s our most popular training course and, since the first one in 2005, we’ve welcomed delegates from over 60 different companies.

All the teachers are experts in aluminium technology. This course gave me the opportunity to add the theory of rolling to my practical background.

Matteo Paci, Production Manager, Profilglass

The course gave a very good overview of the whole rolling process. The presentations were easy to understand, and the notes are excellent for further study. I liked the small group size and the warm, welcoming atmosphere from the first day to the last.

Timm Sugg, Engineer for Production Technology, Rio Tinto Alcan

How this course can help

The Aluminium Rolling Technology Course covers all the key aspects of hot and cold rolling of aluminium flat products. Our consultants, who have a huge amount of industry experience, write and deliver the modules. They’re very familiar with the day-to-day issues of a rolling plant and they’ve created this course to help you solve them. Many of the presentations are supplemented with hands-on workshop sessions.

Each delegate receives a 750 page reference manual containing the presentation and workshop material, as well as an electronic version on an encrypted USB stick.

The course is recognised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) as Professional Development.

Who is it for?

The course is primarily designed for engineers and managers who work in aluminium rolling. However, it would also benefit managers requiring an up-to-date overview of quality-improving technology, as well as engineers new to the field of rolling.

We restrict the attendance to allow ample time for questions and discussion.

How long is the course?

aluminium rolling course timetable

The duration of the course is 5 days and, for the first time since 2019, we will be holding it in-person. The course will take place at a conference venue in Banbury, Oxfordshire, to allow for adequate social distancing. This is where our delegates will be staying, so it is very convenient too.

One of the many advantages of holding an in-person training course is the chance to get to know your fellow delegates. After all, everyone works in the same industry and so will share the same issues and frustrations.

To facilitate networking, we include two social evenings, plus a fascinating tour of one of Jaguar Land Rover‘s manufacturing plants in the course fee. The factory tour is definitely a highlight of the course. It provides an excellent opportunity for our delegates to see how an end-user processes aluminium sheet.

Our past delegates have always really enjoyed these events.
