  • Managing Director
  • Aluminium rolling technology, rolling mill vibration specialist
Tom is our MD and also one of our Process Improvement Consultants. He’s been working in aluminium rolling process engineering for almost 30 years.
Tom has developed specialisms in rolling mill vibration and process line vibration, heat transfer and high speed rolling technology.

Tom’s an engineering physicist with an impressive career history. He studied Applied Physics and then went on to complete a D.Phil in Solid State Physics at Oxford University.

In 1989 he joined Alcan’s Rolling Process team working on issues of profile, flatness and heat transfer before becoming Alcan’s world expert in mill and process vibration phenomena. Just before joining Innoval, Tom managed Alcan’s Rolling and Finishing Technical Programme where he coordinated process improvements for all their rolling plants across the globe.

Tom’s been working for Innoval since we started in 2003 and he was appointed Managing Director in 2006. With his deep technical understanding, Tom plays a large part in our Strategic Support services and he also lectures on our Aluminium Rolling Technology Course. Finally, Tom also consults on recycling technology.
