Rhiannon is a Materials Technologist who specializes in characterisation.

Rhiannon obtained a BS in Chemical Physics from UC San Diego, a MS in Chemistry from UC San Diego and a PhD in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara. During her PhD, Rhiannon investigated structure-property relationships in coated thin films, including links between coating parameters, phase, degradation, microstructure, mechanical and optical properties.

From 2021 to 2022, Rhiannon worked as a Faraday Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield on improving the performance of battery cathodes via heat treatments. Rhiannon then joined Faradion Ltd. as a Battery Scientist in 2022, where she developed fabrication and coating processes, before moving to Innoval in 2026.

Rhiannon now applies her expertise in materials coating and characterisation to provide technical support to Innoval’s clients within the metals industry.
